Thanks for sharing this. It reminds me that the bodies we all inhabit are subject to influences from everything that touches it and goes within it. Mushrooms, foods, herbs, plastics, as well as the intangibles: books, tv, internet. Life within is inextricably interconnected to the wider world.

I think the rot within the system may already be too great.
There is too much vested-interest in the plastics industry and these corporations are simply too rich+well connected to be held to account.
This is completely unlike the tabaco or Asbestos industries of past, no one is unexposed to plastic

Micro plastics are largely inert. They do, however, absorb chemicals on their surfaces that can be harmful. These can be released when the micro plastics are ingested. Hence the worry.
Yet, clay particles also do the same. No one seems concerned about clay particles. Why not?

Because clay has been around for a long time and the levels of clay particles isn’t increasing. When dealing with the unknown, it’s generally best to avoid introducing it to the entire population as a precaution.

We managed to pretty much ban lead paint and those of us old enough will remember the switch over from leaded petrol. Can you imagine that being proposed today? Twitter would melt with citizen scientists declaring it a woke elitist plan to control and tax them.
