There is too much vested-interest in the plastics industry and these corporations are simply too rich+well connected to be held to account.
This is completely unlike the tabaco or Asbestos industries of past, no one is unexposed to plastic

Yet, clay particles also do the same. No one seems concerned about clay particles. Why not?
We managed to pretty much ban lead paint and those of us old enough will remember the switch over from leaded petrol. Can you imagine that being proposed today? Twitter would melt with citizen scientists declaring it a woke elitist plan to control and tax them.
