We are on the brink of curing diseases like pancreatic cancer thanks to decades of public investment. My own mom died of pancreatic cancer. Those cures belong to all of us. Thank you. I took care of my mother with Alzheimer's for 5 1/2 years as the primary caregiver because I couldn't afford 4K a month in a memory care facility. I lost that time to save for my retirement. No one was there to tell me Medicaid would have at least paid me something during this period.
