Agreed, certainly key decisions should be decided in private between the Dof and the manager. Not because of conversations with ex professionals who retired 40 years ago in the Wetherspoons. Crazyness.

I agree with that - the DoF picks the Head Coach - but imo the Head Coach should pick the coaching staff. If the DoF is not happy with the coaching team, either mutually agree to new coaching staff or sack the Head Coach.

Just thought it was fair to defend Thelwell in this instance - I don't think it is weak leadership to decide against bringing in new coaching staff when the Head Coach does not want them.

Thelwell not sacking Dyche could be viewed as weak but that's a separate argument...
