I must say I like a lot of the changes in 2024 D&D--a lot of them make the game more fun and easier to play. I say that mostly from a DM's perspective, watching players enjoy themselves, although my Theros minotaur rogue is fun, too.

I need to do a deep dive. I'm a little nervous about what feels like a step back on spellcasters from the streamlining in the tail end of 2014. But I like the overall drive towards more interesting monsters and getting away from the hp sack with a claw or slam attack model
Since there was supposedly some reworking of the monsters, I'm disappointed that the DMG lacks robust monster creation rules. Those rules aren't in the new MM either.
This is a weird lack. I wonder if it will appear in a later book or if they just felt like they couldn't codify it in a helpful and balanced way (which would odd since they said they were retooling CR to be more accurate which would suggest that a framework does exist)
