If you write an adaptation of a child-friendly work that is specifically meant for kids and/or families, you are cool to me. I love JAGS Wonderland as much as the next cosmic horror weirdo but like. The majority of adaptations of kids media should be for kids.

After a certain saturation of "subversive, adult reimaginings" of classic kids' fictions, it stops being subversive.
Sidenote: If you make a "subversive adult reimagining" of kids' fiction that still manages to maintain the core themes or the best aspects of the original work, you also rock. Shout-out to the guy who made Fallout: Equestria, how tf you do that so seamlessly???
