I liked him in Rebels.
He's basically the most capable nan in every scene he's in. Because he has to be, otherwise as an alien he has no value to the Empire. And yet he gets constantly undermined by those below and above him who don't take him seriously. But his own hubris is what ends him.

Yes, I thought he was cool when I was a tween and read one of the books but he's just not as good as other characters that fit the archetype.
