Azeez Al-Shaair just delivered one of the most vicious, unnecessary shots on Trevor Lawrence you will ever see. Lawrence looked out cold.

On replay it weirdly didn’t look AS vicious since he caught him with the forearm and not the helmet, but TLaws head banged in the turf and Al-Shari clearly starts his launch after the slide starts.

Was late but I don't think it was malicious. And it wasn't as hard as many hits I've seen. Just very poorly placed with the slide and timing. But it appeared he extended his arms just before the hit.

I agree! I wasnt trying to dispute that at all. I guess I failed at the wording. I was just trying to say recency bias makes this seem so much worse. Over the years I have seen crazy late hits n QBs and crazy aggressive hits on RB and WR that are running the ball. At this point he is a runner also.

Im not trying to argue that. Im simply pointing out recency bias. I have been watching football for almost 30 years and have seen so much worse. Especially in the last 7 seasons that I have had Sunday Ticket.

He literally could have ended Trevor's season. Just because there has been even worse violence, does not excuse the impact severity. Just my opinion, as a fan the past 40 years.

I was not trying to say it wasn't bad, that he should not be fined or suspended. But we are all so quick to jump to "Worst/Best I've ever seen" about anything recent... It was wrong, was flagged and he was ejected. It's pretty apparent mosteveryone is on the same page as to that..

I don't understand your argument. He extended his arm literally into Trevors head while also having enough time to pull up. I think the idea that Trevor slid late is ridiculous when every defensive player knows not to hit a QB initiating a slide. It was a cheap, dirty shot. Not the first for him.
