My great aunt gave me a plush poliwhirl around 25 years ago with some coins inside it and a letter that asked me to remember how much money was inside him.
I still don't remember how much was inside him... also I did have a yellow Gameboy color back then too

It was always so interesting to me exploring gen 1 pokémon media and seeing poliwhirl be the mascot of the pokémon series!

It's kinda crazy just how much impact the anime really had on the way pokémon was seen and is now represented.

Afterall, TV is more popular than video games, in media terms!
