You want to really put the screws to Trump? Toss a huge tariff on that garbage oil all youse dig up in Alberta. We sell most of the good crude we pump overseas because we have the sophisticated refineries that can make your relatively gross oil useful.

Tariffs are assessed on foreign goods coming *in* to a country, not domestic goods going out. When the price of oil in the US goes up, that's on Trump (his tariffs), not us. Our tariffs are assessed mostly on US stuff Canadian consumers don't need/can get domestically (and produced by red states).

Just so everyone is clear, just like last time this happened, Canada specifically tariffs only things coming from red states. I’m surprised we haven’t banned Teslas yet, but probably only because we’re still committed to the Paris Accords.
