First it was "Luigi came from wealth, the CEO is the farm boy working class hero!" to all of a sudden "Luigi's grandpa rose from nothing to riches" just like how they tried to gather sympathy for the CEO.

It should be less about the background and family wealth and more about what you do with it.

As I understand it, his family is wealthy and powerful but also generous and kind. Also didn’t make their wealth by hurting or exploiting others. I don’t think he has hurt his grandfather’s legacy at all. Deep down, though it may hurt them publicly, I bet theres some secret pride.
