Ideally AI should be used for stuff like changing colors, moving elements or mixing images together. It should be a tool for graphic designers, not a competitor.

After the shock of generative AI, it's making some progress in that direction even though I find it still experimental.

Yeah I wouldn't have high hopes for fair profit distribution at all, considering existing models of royalty based structures, but I suppose it's better than outright stealing from artists.

1,000% agree. I never share my art online because of the crowd sourcing. It’s bad enough my face has been used to train AI models, they don’t need my imagination as well. It’s an utter shame too, the internet is such a great place to find inspiration, new techniques, and other artists

This is one of the many reasons I'm rooting for the bubble to burst. I'm hoping that the bubble bursting will not only convince these tech bros simping for AI to actually get tangible employment, but that the tech industry will learn to finally work on stuff that benefits us.

I agree + HOPE the bubble will burst but I don't see it being likely soon since it provides a means for the wealthy to cut costs compared to (eg) NFTs which was basically a market gamble. Vogue has just used ai to generate digital illustrations, for example. But I will hope for the bubble burst too!

That's the unfortunate part. The bubble may not burst for a while, even if companies are losing a ton of money. I'm optimistic that the downward turn in revenue for these AI happy companies accelerates the bubble bursting, but we may be here a while. :/

And that's what I'm hoping continues to trend downward. Seems the only big tech company making any money while still being AI happy is Nvidia, but who knows how long that continues. Judging by the 50 series launch, it may not last much longer for them.
