Democrats are really going to regret not standing up to Trump, not just because they’ll lose voters, but because they’ll lose a democratic system where having more voters is the way you gain power.

It feels like we're three steps ahead of you here in the UK. We did this same double act with Boris Johnson and Dominic Cummings - and the Conservative party has been destroyed by the fall out.
We mustn't get complacent. It'll almost certainly be a Tory/Reform deal of some kind for the next election, and the current polls give them a good chance of winning.
But this is the point. We shouldn't be talking in terms of "destroying the opposition" because we actually want healthy competition and debate in politics - both between and within parties. Otherwise fringe and broken ideas can dominate.
Yeah. We desperately need the centre-right to pull itself together across the democratic world. They've ceded an entire half of the spectrum to lunatics. Germany looks a bit of an exception though Merz has populist tendencies. Watching carefully how that goes.
Their inability to see that the system is under attack and move swiftly and cleverly has surely doomed them and likely the system
The pace of this means we’re already at no rule of law; civil unrest follows & states will have to step up and make choices.
In a few months no one will remember parties.
The Democrat party needs to go. It’s burnt. You will never get a trump voter to vote for anyone in the Democratic Party no matter how much they regret supporting Trump.
Hahahahahahahahahahahaha "lose voters" hahahahahahahahahahahaha. There isn't going to be another chance to vote. We need to wake up to that fact and DO something.
I don’t think the leaders of the Democratic Party have any interest in being in power. They generally don’t disagree with Trump and just wish he was more polite.
These townhalls reveal voters are worried about Trump's mental fitness. We need to pound on this angle. Absorbing Canada, backing Putin. Voters know this is insane.
“Look, Congress Democrats have a very bad approval rate right now. So if we fight for democracy this may tarnish the message. So the clever thing is to do nothing until our approval rate increases. Then we’ll strike, carefully.”
Fluke question, had McCain won in 2007, and the US hadn't lost its effing mind over Barack Obama and thrown a 15 yr tantrum would dt be in prison for fraud/rape/tax evasion?
Then again, UZA could reset and be a real democracy with multiple parties. To us Europeans the UZ political system of 2 parties has never been anything but a bad joke.
It’s strange that Americans reluctantly follow Trump, even though millions of jobs have become unstable in just a few months. They don’t seem to be protesting or demonstrating against it. When factories shut down, there’s usually a huge outcry. What makes this different?
No kidding. Come on Brian surely you have more to offer than just stating the obvious. The Dems are leaving it to the people which is another form of capitulation. It is like asking your child who is "unarmed" to fight your battle for you.

Blaming the democrats is not helping at all.
