My strategy is to set my mat a comfortable distance from someone on one side, then put my stuff (blocks, water bottle) as my boundary on the other empty side. Usually, people get the hint.

My read was that people who came in late didn’t want to draw attention to themselves. Which is understandable! But I don’t want to reach out my arms and run into your hand.

My YOGA BEEF is people walking on my mat at the end of class and people are putting props away. Cmon, pay attention, people!

I find myself rushing to wipe down my mat and roll it up out of the way at class’s end, but this rushing is exactly what I do not want at the the end of class!

I just kick them. In a literal way, when we do the side extensions, because I am 6 feet tall. If I'm feeling nice, I warn them ahead of time this will happen if they don't move over.
