Put your device on another country’s setting then. I live in the UK, a supposedly metric country. Yet all the road signs are in miles, yards, which is nuts. And in google maps too on UK setting. So I switched to Republic of Ireland settings. All metric now, every app. - ThreadSky

That was actually one thing I liked when in the UK. I knew how fast I was going and how far things were. I understand the metric system (it’s purposefully simple), but alas, my brain has been trained to think in Imperial units. I like how in new cars you can toggle between metric and imperial.

I am from Canada, it went metric completely in the early 1970s, it’s what I know, and it’s so easy to use.

It’s easy, but because I was raised in the states, my brain automatically translates metric into imperial. Like, “Ok, 3km that’s almost 2 miles…”

Brain training needed! Another odd thing about America (sorry!) is its date protocol mm/dd/yyyy, with the rest of the planet dd/mm/yyyy. When I see a date the US a way I have to really think a moment and translate it.
