My suspicion is that most still have a disproportionate ratio because they’re not capitalizing on a designer’s ability to become truly end-to-end (pairing up with services like Claude, GPT, etc) — from broad strokes to owning front end dev.
I think a lot of the sentiment around design, especially in tech, is due to designers not developing a more professional accreditation process. Anyone can call themselves a designer without any professional education, which elevates amateurs on the same level as studied professionals.
