I've been through private school and it wasted a lot of years I could have been getting a real education. Not that real teachers don't exist, but there's lessened incentive for stable, permanent educators who know their students and curriculum. It was very much like a homeschool daycare. Broken.

I had to spell:
ANTIDISESTABLISHMENTARIANISM

in 7th grade. That is when I read Clarke's book. He used Plato's Allegory of the Cave to explain infrared perception. I ended up reading abt Greek philosophers.

Decided to take engineering in college.

There are school districts which get their money based on real estate taxes. Rich districts have more expensive real estate so more money for the school. I hav met enuf rich kids & am not impressed.

I started reading sci-fi in 4th grade and got educated by Heinlein & Asimov. Skools use wrong books.

I'm curious as to how the Department of Education is federal in the USA, not state run. Canadian here, ours is funded by municipal and the provincial government. I'm guessing you won't see any of those federal tax dollars back once the responsibility goes to individual states? /S

We do have state and local governance and funding of education. We determine curriculums at the state and local levels. The DOE primarily assists with ensuring equitable access and providing resources to poor areas.

They also want public schools to fail so they have a new source of labor. The labor pool is shrinking because more elders are leaving than there are young people entering the pool. States are already rolling back state child labor laws. Watch for them to legislate a child wage less than the min wage

Maga is still angry about public schools being more prestigious than their BS religious private schools. I graduated out of those prestigious public schools that beat out those private schools. Also my wife is a teacher as well so I'm definitely standing firm with the DOE.
