I think it’s just a decorative objet. I may have seen it listed somewhere as a fruit bowl, but I don’t know if that’s right. I know it’s by Walther & Sohne.

I haven't gotten to far into it- all of my uranium glass so far has been gifts. I'm eager to see what kind of prices you can ask of serious collectors (the antiques stores around here don't seem to know that they can ask way more than they are.)

It’s going to be such a balancing act. They were serious carnival glass collectors but I don’t think it’s as in right now as it used to be. For a bunch of reasons, I’ll have to be careful of how much time and energy I give it.

I know nothing about uranium glass but I bought a bunch of depression glass for my wedding and still have a lot of the cerulean pieces. Both these pieces are so gorgeous! I have a feeling they're more expensive than my stuff though 😅

The tiny plate likely wasn't pricey- I can ask my MiL, but it's only about 3" in diameter and when she bought it, she wasn't even aware it was a collectable.

The pieces I plan to pick up this weekend are a uranium glass box (4"x4") that's $15 and maybe a dessert plate that was also between $10-20.

I should say they look more rare and fine. I'm not down on my stuff—I really love it! I just got it very cheap from thrift stores and yard sales.

Oh! The cerulean is gorgeous. My in-laws stuff is a real mix. She was as happy with a cute figure from a thrift shop, as a rare piece of carnival glass she hunted for several years. The believed in paying for quality within your budget, and also that a thing's value is not defined only by its price.

So much of pricing old things is what is in currently in fashion. Yes, workmanship and rarity, but taste trends have a lot to do with it.

Well I hope you find people who appreciate it as much as she did. I bought a glass cabinet from someone last year and she got it from her grandmother and was just very happy I was excited about it because none of her kids wanted it and she was downsizing.
