Finishing Lies of P and going straight to my first playthrough of Shadow of the Erdtree (with a very different build, to boot), I'm struck anew by how much freedom Elden Ring gives players. And also, I'm reminded how Elden Ring sacrificed a carefully-curated experience for that freedom.
