I'm always tick-aware when I'm in the outdoors, but I wasn't vigilant enough. I didn't spray everything down with permethrin this year and ended up contracting Lyme Disease last week. It is not pleasant, friends. Please, take precautions and make sure you do thorough checks when you get home!
