No consolation, but when we moved to Sussex, fuel oil (no gas supply…) was 17p a litre. Ukraine war raised that to *97p* a litre. Filling the 2500l tank for the winter rose from under £500 to £2,500 overnight. No help given for those not on the gas grid…
Yes there was for oil heating it was paid via the electricity bill though.
Also you moved at the depths of covid if it was 17p (I remember it being 20p when i filled my tank to the brim then) the year before it was around 50p a litre
Lots of my friends have been hit by that too, most villages around here aren’t on mains gas so it’s either Calor or oil. Became a massive problem during lockdown too as fuel oil companies were overwhelmed.
Something tells me there’ll be no improvement in £ any time soon with current lunacy going on
We used to live in a rural rental that was on ‘Supagaz’ They had us over a barrel, felt like every delivery was more £ than the last. Certainly the price doubled over the 5 years we were there..
That too has consequences though. Traditionally when companies go broke the receiver ends up owning the assets and flogging them off to the highest bidder… and even if the government intervenes, it’s reliant on private debt financing for *loads* now: unlikely to be forthcoming in future…

Unjustifiable.
Consider my non payment options.
