I'm a lorry driver, currently doing 13-15hr days at work. Every day.
Cuz the UK has huge staff shortages in warehouses and logistics. So us left behind are picking up the pieces. Kind of.

Wages gone up nothing like inflation has, so we're out of pocket.
Stressed. All the time.
So, do not let brexiteers tell you lorry drivers have had it good because of Brexit.
We've had it fucking awful, and it's not going to get better. Ever. Unless we #RejoinEU

What happened to the rules?
When they removed themselves from the EU that, and additional support was gone
Fortunately, the Brits came to their senses & resoundly dumped the Tories.
But a big problem was the soft border between Ireland & Northern Ireland negotiated as part of the Good Friday Accords that when in the EU wasn't an issue. It quickly became one.
