Which makes sense. It is an easy to learn language which leverages a lot of programming time and building code with the extensive amount of features it has to offer and it is the first language that made the continuations principle available in production ready versions.

Kotlin coroutines are easily my favourite subject in the Kotlin world. They may compete with Java Virtual Threads. I have tested Java Virtual Threads and I still find that Kotlin coroutines integrate much better with application services.

I'd take these stats with a pinch of salt. Do they include commercial code? If not that excludes almost every Android app, and most business apps.

All of our backend code is in Kotlin, but it's not on GitHub nor, I'm sure, would our lawyers agree for it to be analysed for stats like this.
