How do I disable DMs?
1. Tap the chat 💬 icon
2. Tap the settings icon to the left of +New Chat
3. Choose to allow "No One" instead of "Everyone" or "Users I Follow"
Now, please remove the "No DM's" from your bio.

I saw this was an ongoing problem. If it helps one person, my efforts are worth it!
I looked at my DMs today, and about half those accts were deleted.
I shared this for others though!
I view a lot of bios when vetting to Follow Back.
This appears to be the biggest #Bluesky problem almost no one seems to know how to fix.
You can still DM anyone once 1 DM is traded so the button isn't an issue
I know this is a chat app. A communications app. But the people are speaking loud and clear about unwanted DM's.
What is the solution?
Make the DM setting to be default off and users must proactively Opt-In to get DM's.
