That sounds fun and makes me want to watch the anime. Admittedly, I couldn't get into it when I was younger, but I enjoyed other mecha anime like Zoids and Voltes V
Eh... You don't need to necessarily. It is handy to move through drawing most of the major standard characters though. I mostly said this because from the waist down this picture already passes for a Rei Ayaname. 😜
