The big change to my blocking habits was intrusive ads on Twitter. I got into the habit of reflexively blocked every company I saw advertising (because even if their product was good, their judgement was clearly bad) and that habit transferred to anyone who annoys me.

If its someone I basically like being annoying or I am feeling grumpy, I mute rather than block and may revisit later. But being an arse in someone else's mentions gets you a block, even if I agree with you.

I used to reset my twitter every 6 months.
Last year was simply nuts. You couldn’t control your own feed anymore. Trump elon hate trump trump news trump elon hate hate. With a million useless gifs memes and adds🤦‍♂️ and a cult yelling free speech every second😂

Long before the #Xodus, when new ND rights community members would ask which to focus on, I’d say that LI had the serious reformers, FB had the people who didn’t know what they were doing, and Twitter had the angry people. (I know not true of everyone.) I’m curious how Bluesky will turn out.
