i had a similarish simulation going but without the daily life interactions but instead simulated life events and the knock-on impacts of those across childhood and into late adulthood
nothing meaningful, sadly. lead coder got covid, i got a severe hand/wrist injury, we both figured once we recovered we’d be back to work on it… they ended up with long covid & 3 yrs l8r im still grappling with the wrist thing
but i think about it often, it’s one of the deepest sims i’ve ever seen
oh this is sad. It really sounds like something meaningful and worth creating. What engine is it based on? Hope your wrist will be better eventually too
the main modeling was done in python, and the outputs were getting pulled into unity and then linked up to procedurally generated narrative segments (their stories were going to be told through procgen letters sent back and forth)

incredibly satisfying stuff

it was genuinely very cool!
