I played Wildermyth on an old macbook using the touchpad a few years ago and it worked great! Loop Hero is another one that iirc worked well that way too

Dawncaster is a great inexpensive choice for on the go. Deckbuilder with rogue like elements in a dark fantasy world. Never see anyone talk about it but it kept me addicted until Balatro came out

no worries on that point - dicey is very challenging and interesting. it varies some by player class, but the Witch character esp has some of the coolest turn-based combat design of all time

agreed yeah - the basic premise is simple but the ways it finds to flex within that framework are really interesting. all six classes feel different, and then each has a variant you can unlock with its own unique ruleset
