I am glad to find this post in search results since I was wondering the same thing about the quality of the Bluesky app for iPad after experiencing frustrating screen display and freezing issues. (Not fixed since 2023? Wow.) I will try the recommended method of using Safari to log in. Thanks!

Use it in a browser. The app isn’t the best on iPad.

search bluesky on chrome and login from there. Don't use the installed ipad app. Will then work as landscape on ipad. I found this out by using bluesky on my imac and wondered why is was full screen and landscape then realised I had just gone in via the browser not an app

The apps on your ipad are iphone/ipod apps. Look on the app store on your ipad for the ipad versions of the apps or if the little plus is in the buy or free logo in the app store it means that app works for both. They are apps for the iPod touch. they can work on iPad but in smaller resolution.

Unfortunately as the IPad is mainly used in Landscape mode especially with a keyboard, the Bluesky app cannot deal with the landscape orientation. Hopefully the devs will look in to this (?)

It took some Googling but I managed to use Shortcuts on iPad to turn the browser page into a separate full screen “app” with its own shortcut per the following instructions.

This link is actually better, which ads the “web clip” shortcut. The option mentioned in my first reply has a weird “toolbar” that drops down when you click in to a post. This one doesn’t.

New here and also experiencing the leaping & jumping of the feed on iPad. Is there a website/browser interface; e.g., Bluesky dot com (but that’s a stationery site)? If so, I’m not finding it. May have to stick w/my phone to access BS. 🫤
