The notion that anyone should be forced to risk their lives to go act as a glorified daycare worker so the wheels of capitalism can keep making business owners richer is laughable.
Even just going for a walk at noon we almost got run over by sliding cars twice. Ther's a good reason for snow days.
To be clear, I'm a teacher. I recognize what I am to the ministry: I'm a person who is paid shit all to supervise a bunch of kids with zero resources. I'm not here to educate. I'm here to make it so parents can go to work to earn pennies as their bosses earn dollars and the oligarchs earn billions.
Not sure you know who I am - I'm Canadian. I do want my union to make a statement of solidarity with our American counterparts, but we aren't walking out.
