Are you French? What is your analysis of the current political climate in France? My largest fear is currently that RN/Le Pen might get a lot of votes in future elections. Do current events change political climate?

It’s valid concern.
But
1/ Marine Le Pen is facing serious legal prosecution which is likely to make her ineligible, we will know on March 31st.
2/ if she is, then she will probably be replaced by the young Jordan Bardella, who seems a bit less pro Russian.
Still he would be surrounded by many >
Yep 2027.
Macron’s popularity is very low.
I personally think he was a terrible president for national policy (real bad)
However, I am happy he’s still here for foreign policy despite a few quirks («not humiliate Russia »🙄) I think he’s doing alright at that task.
To answer precisely your question, other parties are trying to push Macron to resign, by blocking the government voting against at the parliament.
But it’s up to him to resign, and frankly I don’t see him quitting before 2027.
other RN members, many of which are not very keen to Ukraine.
It wouldn’t be as mad as the MAGA
circus though, more like Meloni.
3/ Although the far right is over 30% in France (a record high) and close to 38% including the Reconquête party, they don’t have much reserve to win the presidential
The danger is that many left wingers are more than tired being obliged to vote for the center right (Macron or his successor) to block the RN… abstention might creep in.
Still, I don’t see the far right reaching over 50% yet.
I hope the American disaster will be a lesson.
