I love when science and art collide. That’s partly why my degree is in photography (from back in the day when that meant doing a lot of chemistry in the process and understanding the science of light).

Physicists are fascinated by knitting because there's a lot of applicable science. A simplified model of how yarns interact shows that a piece of knitted fabric can have many stable resting states depending on its history of deformation. physics.aps.org/articles/v17...
