I remember when my daughter, who's about your age, was on Tumblr during high school, and I worried about her. She's close to completing her PhD, while working for Stanford University hospital. Looks like the Tumblr nerds turned out pretty ok.

It’s one of the few things I don’t think people who weren’t chronically online get about the like, pseudo parasocial relationships we’ve developed with having associations with the same people over multiple platforms. It feels like a mini ‘class of etc’ era that we watch grow and change together.
