What Trump is proposing is that war bores him silly as it’s costly and time- consuming ( he’s not wrong there), but the key point here is that it distracts attention from his agenda , and he lacks the strategic and analytical skills to sit in a meeting long enough to grasp the real issues.

That's not even the point. Getting them round the table or not is irrelevant when he has already announced he will stoll all arms supplies to Ukraine on day one. Getting them round the table at that point is only to discuss the terms of surrender.

I'm not knocking the improvement. I would say that after the debate and the attempt on his life, he was 90% favourite. He is now 55% favourite - I put it no more strongly. I am riddled with anxiety that a lot of men, including BAME men, in the privacy of the polling booth, will not vote for a woman.

The BAME shift to trump has always felt like the over-reporting of a small phenomena to me, but who knows. Given the desperation of the current hate campaign on Ohio I wonder what Trumps internal numbers are saying.
