I love Patricia Highsmith novels and love this adaptation. Probably best thing Netflix has done in a while. The black/white noir aesthetic is perfect. And Andrew Scott is a bravura Ripley and I can’t believe he’s almost 50 yo. Jeezus, I feel like a hag and I’m 9 years younger, he looks 35

Yes, definitely. That was good, and this is obviously a lot longer being an 8 part miniseries but just exquisite cinematography and I think Andrew Scott is the strongest Ripley I’ve ever seen

A nice touch is putting Sting’s non-binary child in honestly a non-binary role in the show as Freddie Miles, there is no indication that a gender needs to be assigned to that role.

Yep! It almost feels more authentic, including the ridiculous amount of stairs to get to the villas on the Amalfi Coast 😂 (never been, always wanted to go, and it was a good reminder for my 40 yo knees)

Yeah I’m the same way, I don’t have the attention span for multi-season series anymore but I like limited series. This one and also Day of the Jackal were both top of my list. Let me know what you think! I’ll plan to finish this before I’m back on service next week

I recall way back as a child going to a movie called Day of the Jackal!! Because of my dad, I saw more movies like that than kid’s movies by the time I was 10.

So they remade it?? Let me check out what when the movie was made that I know I saw.
