Got pulled to work literally last minute (all telehealth, fortunately) for sick #hospitalist colleague today and
1) being a misanthrope has advantages, I haven't been ill at all this winter
2) THIS IS WHY WE NEED FLU SHOTS- you know how chaotic hospitals will be when 50% of doctors are out sick?

- Kills a lot of vulnerable patients (young kids, seniors, chronic disease), lands a lot more in hospital
- though generally "mild" in healthcare workers, may knock them out for days to upwards of a week, when we need MORE HCW to cover increased load
