My fiancé is a Canadian citizen but he was born in Indian so he obviously looks Indian which shouldn’t matter at all. They sent our case to Mumbai in error despite us saying Montreal on the app. He’s Canadian! He had to renounce his Indian citizenship to do become Canadian. It got ridiculous!

I am so sorry. India is not even supposedly on “hit list” of banned countries but 2 Indian nationals were either disappeared (an Indian Muslim married to a Palestinian) or self-deported. As if Stephen Miller cares. Completely understand you both wanting to go to Canada to get away from this mess.

My schedule was getting better in 2025, I actually have large stretches of April and especially May off service, but instead of what I was planning initially, an international vacation, I'm stuck hiding in our locked offsite office even when not working cuz we live in a dictator police state. Fun.
