If we’ve learned anything from Mumford and Kotkin, it’s that cities should be designed for people and people are not just one thing.
We need cities that support the variety of our lives structurally, not cities designed to optimize narrow activities.

What’s that saying from a Canadian transportation engineer that was on @activetowns.bsky.social - “If you welcome cars, the best you can do is accommodate everyone else”. Both of these quotes drive home (pardon the pun) the core message at the heart of it; cars can’t share. So don’t share with cars.
