It’s seems that climate change action is dead - based on the results of the US election. How can Canada possibly maintain a carbon tax under these conditions?
Fair enough. As a science teacher I tire of explaining to Christians how evolution works especially because they are always so convinced they're right. And their entire (scientific) belief system can often be summed up as "God dun it."So I personally hope never to go back to that discussion.
yes, actions are all that matter, results are all that matter. So many politicians say they believe in climate change, believe we're in a housing crisis, support transit and active transport. But then they do nothing, nothing at all, citing a need for "balance" or whatever BS excuses
If rather than being showered with niceties and the trappings of the rich, they instead had to queue in a canteen for their lunch, pay for it, carry it to their table and clear up after themselves they might then remain focused on the job they're paid to do instead of protecting their new lifestyle
Entirely possible slippery pols will respond that science isn't a matter of belief...and they would be correct. Science is a practice constructed from systematic doubt, and slippery pols know the hoi polloi don't understand that.
