Yes. And if transit -- train lines, busses, sea busses -- were FREE, we would take still more cars off the road, have more bicycle lanes, and more pedestrian areas. Transit could do away with the bureacracy, headaches and expenses of the whole monetary/compass card system. Win-win-win.

I lived in Vancouver during expo 86 and the skytrain was game changer for the city then. Have Ben back (pre pandemic) and it remains an incredibly efficient, inexpensive, and beautiful way to get around the city. Wish more cities adopted this model. (Weeps in #OttLRT)

The simple fact that you can get on a Skytrain downtown and go directly to the airport is so stunningly obvious and simple that it horrifies me how few places manage that.
Yes, I am planning how to get from Liverpool NS to the Halifax airport....

Ottawa: Two transfers to get downtown, no stations enclosed (routinely coldest capital in the world), 2 diff train systems. Few/no connections direct to hotels; one national museum is near LRT (250m inhospitable walk) but all others effectively need a car/uber. But hey, 2% taxes amirite
