I haven’t seen a single person here say they’d refuse to engage in reasoned and respectful debate and discussion. Twitter used to offer that, but since it was overrun by rabid MAGA freaks and bots it has become unusable. I don’t need my blood pressure to rise every time I open a social media app.

I agree. Echo chambers don’t help us have important conversations with those we don’t agree with, but the “conversations” happening on most social media platforms (in comments, on lives, etc) are toxic; mostly because of forced propaganda. Our minds are closed to that format of conversation now
