In 2000, 25% of Chinese has universal healthcare versus 95% today.
China achieved this in part by educating hundreds of thousands of doctors. For free.
I also lived in Europe and would also add that most Americans would be shocked to realize how many amenities are built into our healthcare and hospitalization.
Part of why we pay more is we want more.
Also, thorough annual check ups are common & efficient often included in the employment welfare package.
For example, when I lived there the official daily PSI was 150-250. But the US Embassy was getting 400-500 per day.
