Mayor Gloria’s head of comms got the job by doing free PR for the police during George Floyd protests, specifically after PD shot a Black grandmother with a non lethal weapon in the face.

Correct term is "Less Lethal" because it can easily be lethal when you're shooting people in the head and/or at point blank range. This is both why the manuals for these weapons specifically tell you not to ever aim at the head or use at short range and why cops were doing it constantly in 2020.
