I feel like @joshuajfriedman.com either knows how to do this himself (and would likely be willing to give it a try) or at least knows capable, willing people to whom he could refer the project.
What would be really helpful is to have local feeds in addition the more general ones. I love knowing in general what's going on, but I might get my ass out to a local action.
Agreed. is there an equivalent to channels or tags? (Sorry I’m pretty new to actually using the app). I’d be happy to contribute from DTLA when I can make it.
I follow a Boulder Feed, and get all the news, so folks could create/follow local feeds and plug in to all things- which is more cohesive imo than just protests.
And one devoted to notifying people of them in advance to help connect the millions of people who would be willing to be out in the streets (ive noticed a ton of people today saying “ah I wish I had heard about the protests today”)
This is a huge issue. People are on SM and traditional ways of organizing like email and phone tree are being relied upon because people don’t trust Meta this time around. Great protest info pages on FB are now moot and admins are threatening to shut them down. But you can’t get on the email list

The protest feeds in 2020 were very informative and helped a lot of people get where they need to be.
The work never ends and must continue.
