Although inconceivable to us, like cars where to our fore-bearers, imagine a world where your DNA is bought and sold because it’s undamaged and/or pure by events we cannot imagine. And that’s why I never have and never will willfully share my DNA. I want it to die with me. I’m private that way.
As is so often the case, the technology is way out ahead of the oversight. I recall some discussion years ago about whether a company could patent YOUR genetic code. Always guard your personal information, especially your DNA sequence.
