In his briefing-room appearance, "Trump offered a few initial notes of sympathy, and then turned almost immediately toward castigating DEI," Jonathan Lemire writes:

It really should be time for some sort of collective response. So far the lack of it is surprising. Society seems to have been numbed into submission by the constant chaos.
He's a sub human slug, a sea cucumber, a lime disease tick. The world's largest single cell entity and if that bullet had been 2-3 inches the other way, I would have cheered the way I cheered when Italy won the World Cup in 1982.
The CEO and all American Airlines employees have a difficult job in the coming days, working with the families of the deceased. Donald Trump and the people in his administration are only making things worse and should all keep their uneducated comments to themselves.
I would like one person to get called on when the Orange Felon is taking questions and say: “I’m not going to ask you any questions because you’re too stupid to give any useful answers, and too mean not to add to the suffering of other people for no reason.” Then sit down.
Nope. You guys bashed Biden and Harris so much you helped Trump, you don’t get to bitch about it now. Go back to Morning Joe with the rest of them sellouts.
I agree with James. And apparently a lot of other folks are feeling the same way about you fucking sellouts. You might last a little longer, but at what cost? Tom Nichols, for example, wrote more than one piece that might have been written by maga.
The DAY he became “unpresident”? That happened back in 2017 at the CIA’s memorial wall. It’s been a continuous downhill slide to oblivion ever since. But, you guys can’t quit him because that would involve actual effort. Instead you just take down whatever he says and raise an eyebrow now and then.
It's not DEI. He shouldn't have Fired the FAA director, freeze the hiring of air traffic controllers, disband the Aviation Safety Advisory Committee, attempt to scam FAA employees with buyout/retirement spam. He's more the villain in this story than a victim, and definitely not a hero.
I think you do good work but with your subscription prices starting at $80 a year (oh look, a free tote bag included) I'll never be able to read anything. Just saying.
The next time Trump speaks at a mic, everyone there should turn around and just stand there with their back to him. That would piss him off so bad. No questions from the press—just quiet. He doesn't deserve our attention.
He continues to insinuate that anyone who is not a straight, white, Christian, able-bodied male is somehow less qualified, less capable and less competent.

He will take the blame for NONE of it.
Fuck you and may The Atlantic follow the Titanic.

We should demand decency from a President!
