I talked to a dozen 55-64yo friends last week. Every one is staying in their job until at least 65 due to the cost of private medical insurance, and (for some) to get to full SS.
@profgalloway.com Gainful employment *is* a problem. Our generational cohort (X) is getting laid off from $300K salaries and applying for $100K jobs. Many are plundering savings, retirement, and taking on debt. May be small numbers of people, but huge financial impact. What does your data say?
