I don't know, America's Tianammon Square would be powerful. Protesters standing in front of tanks to stop the parade would definitely send a message and most of those troops would not run anyone over...

There is no martial law in the US FYI... The closest would be the insurrection act... And even then the law is pretty clear that there needs to be an insurrection in progress, not a protest against a birthday parade... The UCMJ requires that soldiers do not act on unlawful orders.

I would love it if DC were to be empty of spectators. No one there to watch, no protests. Just… stragglers. A parade with no purpose. (While every other city has huge turnout and massive party protests, gatherings, and celebrations of community!)
