The largest loss of life caused by a single bomb blast during the Bristol Blitz is thought to have occurred in broad daylight on the 28th of August, 1942.
A German plane dropped a 500 lb bomb onto the corner of Broad Weir and Philadelphia Street.
24 people were injured and five were killed.
