From 1992-2017 this building on West St, Old Market was the site of the Aled Richards Trust (as well as the Terrence Higgins Trust).
When they were founded, these trusts were among the only places in the city where people living with HIV/AIDS could find resources and support.

The Aled Richards Trust was named after Thomas James Aled Richards (1957-1985), a Bristol waiter and caterer. His friends founded the trust in 1985 and named it in his honour to humanise the dreadful toll of the disease which, at the time, was being largely ignored by the government.
