Because I'm a complete goddamn nerd, I'd like to explain to folks (particularly Liberals) what a feint is, in sword fighting.
People think it means "a fake attack."
It doesn't.

"It's supposed to be a feint...?"
"But I'm not defending. Why didn't you hit me?"
Also, the explanation of a feint is exactly correct.
Importantly, for a feint to be effective it must be something the opponent *must* defend against or maneuver away from. It has to be a legitimate threat.
Let's.
Let's go with "some liberals". Maybe even "a few".
If someone feints with their sword towards your leg, and you don't defend or move, they're going to STAB YOU IN THE FUCKING LEG.
You WANT TO AVOID THAT.
The second worst thing you can do in response to a feint is to ignore it, because while you're busy protecting your core, they'll kill you with a hundred cuts to your limbs.
The Dems are maybe worse than Chamberlain at this point. At least he believed his disgusting cowardice bought a stop to Hitler.
Dems don't even believe Trump needs to be stopped. It'd simply be nice if he did.
Yes, it's a distraction. And if we ignore it, we will die, because the fascists will carve us up, gladly killing all of the people we're willing to sacrifice because we're waiting to defend ourselves against the "real" attack.
We should protect vulnerable people. We can do that by putting up a fierce defense - or by maneuvering out from under the attack. Choosing where to spend our scarce energy or resources is valid - but deciding that vulnerable folks should just take the hit isn't.
The entire strategy against us is zerg spam. It's just mashing A from top to bottom. Civ V demanding full capitulation while threatening war.
How do we change stance, what equipment is best, etc?
